About

Our Campus

eCampus is NSCC's online campus — delivering accredited programs and full student supports to learners across Nova Scotia and beyond, in a way that fits the lives of online students.

Land Acknowledgement

NSCC is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded territory and traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of Peace and Friendship Treaties between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the Crown, dating back to 1725. As Treaty beneficiaries, we recognize that we are all Treaty People.

NSCC recognizes African Nova Scotians as a distinct people whose ancestors arrived here over 400 years ago. From that time forward, they have contributed to the infrastructure and economic wealth of the communities they helped to build, but from which they could not always benefit.

How online delivery works at eCampus

eCampus programs are offered asynchronously or synchronously — part-time or full-time — depending on the program. Both modes follow the same academic standards and lead to the same NSCC credentials.

Synchronous
Delivered entirely online with scheduled classes. Live virtual sessions are held during the week and attendance is expected. Best for learners who prefer real-time structure and live interaction with faculty.
Asynchronous
Delivered entirely online with no scheduled class times. Learners complete coursework on their own schedule against established deadlines; assignments, quizzes, and discussions are not self-paced — deliverables and participation requirements still apply.

Who eCampus serves

eCampus exists to expand access to NSCC programs for learners whose lives make on-campus attendance difficult or impossible. Our students live throughout Nova Scotia — including rural communities, the Cape Breton highlands, and the South Shore — as well as elsewhere in Canada and abroad. Many balance full-time work, family responsibilities, or care commitments alongside study.

Online doesn’t mean alone. eCampus learners have access to the same library, counselling, accessibility, career, and academic supports as on-campus students, delivered in formats designed for online learning.
